Apps Every Parent Should Have on Their Phone
These are the three apps that San Jose Unified and Hoover will use while your student is enrolled. The will help you stay connected and involved with your students school journey. If you need any assistance installing and logging into these apps, please reach out to our Parent Liaison.
Campus Parent
Also known as Infinite Campus or Parent Portal, this is SJUSD's official reporting system. In this app you can see your student's grades, attendance, schedule, teachers, progress reports and report cards, state testing scores, and who their emergency contacts are. You can edit family phone numbers and email addresses. You can see and edit the emergency contacts for your students.

Canvas Parent
Canvas is the tool our teachers use day-to-day for your student's assignments. In this app, you can see upcoming, current, and past assignments. You can see if your student has turned in assignments or if they are late or missing. Finally, you can see the grade. These assignment and grades will periodically be transferred to Campus Parent for official recording of grades.
Parent Square
ParentSquare is the District's and Hoover's official communication app. You will get newsletters and updates here, as well as any absences notices. Teacher can also sent classroom updates and news to families/guardians. You can also use ParentSquare to directly message any of your students teachers.
You have the option to access ParentSquare through a web browser or a mobile app. Downloading the ParentSquare app on your mobile device allows you to view ParentSquare posts and alerts directly on your phone. Follow these simple steps to download the mobile app.

You can always order Hoover Spirit Wear from our online Hawk Shop. Order online and your student can pick up the order at lunch from the Hawk Shop.
Parent Information Form
We understand that open communication between parents and the school is essential for the success and well-being of your child. Please complete this Parent Information Form to ensure that meetings with the school Principal or Assistant Principal are as productive as possible. Your input will help us better understand your concern or need, Allowing us to address it more effectively during the meeting.

We encourage you to explore the resource information to get familiar with some important procedures, expectations, and requirements. Read Board Policy 6020 and Administrative Regulation 6020 for the parent involvement opportunities available to you to participate in your children's education.
